How do you get crisp corners on a welt pocket

My welt pockets always end up with slightly rounded corners instead of the sharp right angles I see in ready-to-wear jackets and in photos here. I'm clipping into the corners carefully before turning things through, but there's still a tiny bit of rounding no matter how precisely I press. Is this a clipping technique issue, a pressing issue, or do some of you actually use a point turner or awl to coax the corner out fully? Any step-by-step resources welcome.
