Digging through an inherited stash bin I found three yards of a fabric with no selvage information and no memory of where it came from. It has a slight sheen, drapes beautifully, and does a slow melty burn test with a plasticky smell, which suggests some kind of synthetic blend rather than pure silk. Wondering if anyone has tips beyond the burn test for narrowing down fiber content, since I'd like to know before committing it to a specific pattern.
