Gaping at the back neck on my Helen's Closet Blackwood cardigan

My finished Helen's Closet Blackwood cardigan gapes noticeably at the back neck whenever I move my arms forward, like there's extra fabric with nowhere to go. The shoulders otherwise sit fine and the front doesn't gape at all. I suspect this might be a forward shoulder or upper back issue rather than a straightforward sizing problem. Has anyone solved this specific gape on a cardigan pattern, and did a small wedge adjustment at the back neck seam actually fix it for you?
