Babylock Ovation threading nightmare, any tips for a first overlocker

Just got my first overlocker, a Babylock Ovation, and I'm on my third attempt at threading it correctly with the four different colored threads going where the diagram says they should. Every time I think I've got it, the stitch comes out with loops hanging off one side. Is there a specific order that tends to trip people up on this model, or a common mistake beginners make when threading a four-thread overlock stitch for the first time?
