Seam allowance show-through
Ridges from seam allowances visible on the right side of lightweight fabric come from pressing directly over the seam without protection. Press over a seam roll or slip paper strips under the allowances.

Satin or silk sliding apart mid-seam despite pinning is caused by low surface friction between layers. Use fine silk pins or clips, hand-baste critical seams, and sew slowly with a walking foot.
