Cuff

A slit left open at the hem of a jacket, coat, or skirt to allow ease of movement, finished with an overlapping or underlapping facing.

A decorative shoulder strap or tab, often buttoned at one end, originally used on military uniforms and later adopted on trench coats and shirts.

The finished edge of a garment, typically at the bottom, where the raw fabric edge is folded and stitched to prevent fraying.

A pouch or opening sewn into or onto a garment for holding small items, constructed as a patch, inseam, welt, or besom pocket depending on placement.

A shaped panel, usually at the shoulders or hip, that fits closely to the body and to which fuller sections of fabric are attached below or beyond it.
