Screen printing (textile)

Process of applying colour to fibre, yarn, or finished fabric using dye baths, which may be immersion, hand-painted, or resist-based, altering or refreshing a textile's colour.

Hand-printing technique in which a carved wooden or linoleum block is inked or dyed and pressed onto fabric to transfer a repeating design.

Traditional dyeing process using the blue pigment derived from indigo plants, requiring an oxygen-reducing vat; the fabric turns blue as it oxidises after removal from the dye.

Fabric colouring method using dyes extracted from plants, insects, or minerals rather than synthetic dyestuffs, often requiring a mordant to fix colour to the fibre.

Resist-dyeing technique in which fabric is bound, twisted, or folded and secured with string or rubber bands before dye is applied, leaving undyed patterned areas beneath the bindings.
